How it works
Enter your height in centimetres and weight in kilograms. The calculator shows your BMI, the category it falls into, and the healthy weight range for your height.
BMI = weight in kilograms ÷ height in metres squared. A BMI below 18.5 is usually classed as underweight, 18.5 to 24.9 as healthy weight, 25 to 29.9 as overweight, and 30 or above as obesity.
70 kg at 1.75 m gives BMI = 70 ÷ 3.0625 = 22.9. That falls within the healthy weight range. For a height of 1.75 m, the healthy weight range is about 56.7 kg to 76.2 kg.
Useful as a quick general health reference, when preparing for a health appointment, or when tracking broad weight changes over time. BMI is only a rough guide and does not account for muscle mass, pregnancy, age, or individual health context.

What is a healthy BMI range?+
For many adults, a BMI from 18.5 to 24.9 is usually classed as healthy weight. This is general guidance and may not apply to every person.
