How it works

How to use

Enter your monthly electricity usage in kWh, the total price you actually pay per kWh, and any fixed monthly fee on the bill. If your contract or invoice separates taxes, network charges, or surcharges, add them into the per-kWh figure before comparing results.

Formula

Monthly cost = (kWh usage × price per kWh) + fixed monthly fee. Annual = monthly × 12.

Example

300 kWh at 1.50 kr/kWh with a 79 kr fixed fee → 529 kr/month, about 6,350 kr/year. If usage rises to 450 kWh in winter at the same price, the monthly total becomes 754 kr.

When it helps

Comparing electricity contracts, checking how much of the bill comes from usage versus fixed fees, building a winter budget, or testing whether lower consumption would make a noticeable difference.

FAQ

What price per kWh should I use?+

Use the real total you pay per kWh on the bill. If taxes, network charges, or supplier surcharges are listed separately, include them so the estimate is comparable to what you actually pay.

Why include a fixed fee?+

Many electricity contracts include a fixed monthly charge even when usage is low. Including it shows whether a cheap-looking per-kWh rate still leads to a realistic monthly total.

Is the result exact?+

No. It is only as accurate as the usage and price you enter. Real bills can vary by season, meter readings, taxes, network fees, and whether your contract price changes over time.

Does this work for both apartments and houses?+

Yes. The calculator is not tied to a property type. What matters is using your own usage level, your real all-in price per kWh, and any fixed fee from the contract.
